The challenge for the farmer when seeding is to do it quickly but accurately and at the lowest possible cost per hectare. Seeds must be placed precisely in order to better utilize the field, protect the seeds from animals, and to allow the seeds to get enough nutrients, water and air. Seeding equipment is used very intensively for a limited time, followed by long periods of inactivity. Intense periods are characterised by tough environmental conditions and sustained work activity.
